Three Worthy Day Trips From Prague
Few cities can match Prague’s over-the-top romance and evocative Old World charm. But this gorgeous capital is also a tourist magnet, and the crowds can make sightseeing frustrating. Fortunately, it’s easy to escape the crowds by heading just outside of town to discover a range of worthwhile day trips prague Czech Republic – my three favorites include a rich medieval university city, a sobering concentration camp memorial, and a grand Czech castle. Day tours from Prague is one the most enjoyable things to do with a trusted agent
esky Krumlov
One of the most popular day trips from Prague, this fairytale-like riverside town is the perfect place to relax and recharge. Take a walk around the town’s postcard-perfect houses, or head up to the castle tower for sweeping views over the village. You can also explore the castle gardens (the Rose Garden with its peacocks is my favorite), hire a raft for paddling on the Vltava River, and shop for artsy little souvenirs.
UNESCO-listed Kutna Hora
A quick bus ride west of Prague, Kutna Hora is an ancient city that’s been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. You can stroll around the historical center, or visit monuments, chapels, and a monastery to learn more about this rich history. Alternatively, you can visit the stately Konopiste Chateau, home of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, to tour the chateau’s staterooms and learn about the archduke’s many eccentricities, including his passion for hunting.
Pilsen
A direct train ride from Prague takes you to Pilsen, or Plzen in Czech, home of the iconic Pilsner Urquell brewery. A guided tour of the brewery is a must-do for beer lovers, and you’ll get to sample some of the finest local brews.
